Tychokinesis is based on the theory of what is an errant variable within quantum mechanics. Once the variable, in this case the DNA Alternate, is introduced into a situation, probabilities and statistical anomalies become impacted thus altering the outcome of otherwise predictable situations. The Alternate does not change anything himself, but due to a conceptual inverted butterfly effect, events around the universe change based on where the Alternate is going to be. Every second of every day, the universe is preparing for where the person will be in order to effectively grant him a favorable outcome no matter what befalls him. In other words, instead of the universe conspiring against the DNA Alternate (as so many people unrealistically bemoan), it is always conspiring to do the Alternate good.
(For example, the Alternate gets shot at. The gun malfunctions. Tracing the butterfly effect backward, one could see how something was improperly manufactured on a miniscule scale at the factory, that it was transported to a particular store, bought by a particular patron, stolen in a robbery, transferred between crooks to end up in the hands of the person shooting at the Alternate and, after several years of use, the gun suddenly malfunctions at that exact moment when the lucky person is shot at. No harm befalls the person and they are seen as simply "lucky.")
Generally speaking, the person with Tychokinesis is entirely unaware of his power, nor does he consciously influence anything. He cannot, for example, wave his hand and make your car blow up. However, if you tried to run him over, your tire might blow, your engine explode, or you could be hit by a faling plane in the process. The power is strictly on a level of influence outside of the person. However, just because the person is impervious to harm by the universe doesn't mean that the people around him can't be hurt or that he couldn't harm himself. The only thing this power effects is the rest of the universe acting favorably toward him. He can still stab himself if he so chose.
