The Alternate resists excessive and harsh damage more than an average human being. The skin can be bulletproof, knife proof, and all but immune to concussive force. The strength varies, with some Alternates capable of absorbing impacts from tank shells and missile strikes, while others can be harmed by armor-piercing ammunition. This can include resistance to the elements and other external influences such as radiation, pressure and electricity.
